CLUB REGENERATION
Club Regeneration was the first anti-drug disco in South Africa started by an ex-drug dealer and Satanist in 1987. It received a lot of  favourable news coverage but was well before its time. Due to a break-in it had  to be closed. Ado Krige, the founder took to the road and covered the entire  country by motorbike talking at schools, churches, community centres, and many  other venues, warning people about the dangers to come. Since then the need for  such a venture as this has tripled.

ICU''s Ollie Olwagen, a personal friend and brother in Christ, of Ado contacted him for an interview and this is  what he had to say.

"Drugs have become a major nightmare to many families  in South Africa. A whole generation of parents were totally ignorant of this  terrible monster lurking at the entrances of entertainment places and in school  corridors. With major crime such as high-jacking, murder and rape rampant in our streets, the cops do not have the man-power or resources to effectively combat the drug menace. We believe we have some of the answers worried parents are  seeking."

When he was asked to elaborate a little bit more Ado said: "We aim to establish a nation-wide network of anti-drug clubs under the name of Club  Regeneration that will serve as a multi-functional venue with the objective to  create a drug free lifestyle among young people. Therefore the first Club R was officially re-opened on the 12th of February 1999."

Ado said Club  Regeneration already has the blessing and support of all the secondary and high schools in the greater Pretoria area. Most of the mainstream Churches have also  voiced their support. The Club has also been named as a roll-player with the drama department of the University of Pretoria in their anti-drug play called  "Time Out"! TheCPF's, Crime Prevention and the Narcotics Buro of the SAPD  support the venture wholeheartedly. Club Regeneration is run as a Section 21 company exempted from Tax as none of its Directors gain from its  profits.

Ado added: "We believe that this service is essential for the  future health and well-being of our nation and is worth investing time, money and energy into."

Regarding rehabilitation Ado said Club Regeneration is more geared for the prevention of drug
abuse than the treatment thereof. We have, however, helped many families and their
youngsters successfully through  their crises with Biblical counseling and caring support. We believe that God, in Jesus Christ, has made complete provision for deliverance from all addiction. We believe that the Holy Spirit alone can fulfill the craving of the human spirit. We also believe that every Spirit filled Christian possesses the power to help fellow humans in this�  crises.
