Alfred & Belinda Paetzold who

Who we are...

Alfred, born in 1967, originally studied mechanical engineering and worked for 7 years as engineer at LIW in Pretoria. He also studies programming and worked for 1 year in Johanesburg at PPS as programmer.

Belinda is a physiotherapist and she worked for 6 years at Unitas Hospital, Kalafong Hospital as well as in her own practice.

In 1997 they both experienced that God was calling us into full time missions. After months of praying about it, the Lord confirmed it through His Word. They resigned from their jobs, sold their house and went to White River in order to study at Africa School of Missions. Initially they planned to stay only one year, but in April the Lord lead them to stay for the full three years to complete the course.

During this time God prepared them not only academically, but He also formed their character for the task that lied ahead. The training is not only theological, but also contains many subjects aimed at helping a missionary amongst other people groups, for example how to learn a language, how to adapt in another culture and how to analyze a culture in order to bring the Gospel to the people.

They studies both, but during the second year, Belinda had to stop due to the arrival of their first boy, Christiaan. At the end of Alfred's 3rd year, Bernard made his appearance. In September 2002 our third son was born, Stefan.
