Petra College for Children's Ministry (Petra College) is an interdenominational Christian training college with a mission to help establish effective children's ministries in every church and nation through: Leadership training, Strategic partnerships and Relevant material. The college serves churches, as well as mission and training organizations by equipping Christian leaders for their walk/ministry with children. Petra College emphasises training in skills and techniques and can thus avoid doctrinal differences between denominations. Another central element of all training at Petra College is the principle of multiplication which means that students are also equipped for training others, who in turn can train yet others (2 Tim. 2:2). A mentor/tutor system guards the quality of the training that can be done residential or by tutor-guided correspondence course. Petra College was formerly known as Children's Evangelist Training Institute (CET). Since the founding of CET in 1989, more than 3 000 people have done one of Petra College's many training programs. Former students serve under many churches and missions agencies in 36 countries worldwide. Petra College is thus involved in networks and partnerships that would like to reach and disciple children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Principal is Dr. Johannes Malherbe.
