13. WHAT DOES SCRIPTURE TEACH?
Job asks the question: "Who can bring what is pure from the impure?" and answers: "No one!" (Job 14:4) David writes: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (Ps 51:5) Jesus says: "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." (John 3:6) Paul teaches: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23) And also: "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned." (Rom 5:12) He further says to those who rely on obedience to the written law: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." (Gal 3:10) John writes: "If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." (1 John 1:10) All people are under the curse because we all have sinned. (Rom 3:23) That is why Christ became an accursed for us to redeem us from the curse of the law. (Gal 3:13) These witnesses are sufficient to make us understand that all people going to heaven, must be saved.
